Not much news on Hugh at present - just wanted to alert Australian fans of Hugh that the shooting of Australia is according to ABC News wrapping up in Bowen, Australia, and filming will resume again next week in Darwin! Catch him if you can! ;)

There isn’t much news on Hugh at present, but I found some new HQ and MQ on set footage of Hugh and co-star David Wenham shooting Australia in Bowen, Australia. :) Below is a preview, as usual.

As I’m sure you know, Hugh is currently filming Australia with Nicole Kidman in Bowen, Australia, and I found this interesting article from If Magazine about some controversy that the filming seems to be causing on location in Bowen.

“The new movie Australia starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman has sparked a storm of controversy on location Down Under over plans to use a World War I memorial for a cattle stampede scene.

Filmmaker Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge) offended locals in tiny Bowen, where the film is shooting, when he continued shooting as his actors clambered all over the statue. The director has been forced to cut the controversial sequence after a film extra and former serviceman threatened to quit the film if Luhrmann didn’t rethink his plans.

Upset extra Brian Germain says, “We were supposed to be standing along the fences watching the cattle come down the main street and we were waving them along. Later on they changed it and had two guys standing beside the replica and they actually climbed on top of it and I told them that was wrong.”

Germain contacted a local Vietnam Veterans Federation and urged them to help him fight the plans. A spokeswoman for the film says the incident was accidental and would not be used in the final cut of the film.”

Voters of the cinema poll by Pearl and Dean cinema advertisers have voted Hugh the Sexiest Male Superhero for his portrayal of Wolverine in the X-Men trilogy! According to Javno.com, Hugh beat his contestants, including The Prestige co-star Christian Bale (for Batman Begins) and Tobey Maguire (for the Spider-Man trilogy). Jessica Alba was reportedly voted Sexiest Female Superhero (for the Fantastic Four films).

I just finished capping Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige (2006) and its DVD extras, and have added over 1400 screen captures of Hugh as Robert Angier, co-starring Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Rebecca Hall, Scarlett Johansson, Piper Perabo and Andy Serkis. :) I have to tell you, though - Hugh’s performance in this movie is outstanding, definitely one of his best works, if not his best works to date (although everyone did a great job). *_* Click on the below preview to enjoy the new treats.
