Almost back

A while ago, Hugh-Jackman.com was lost from the face of the internet. I had some back-ups but even with those, the task of uploading 40,000 images filled me with despair. And so the site lay dormant.

It’s still not up to date but I needed to get something on line to motivate me to get everything else uploaded. So we’re not quite back, but we’re almost there…

I’ve added a few more photos from behind the scenes of Hugh’s upcoming movie, Australia, with Nicole Kidman. You can see previews of those and of Hugh’s appearance at The Motion Picture & Television Benefit in October 2007 too.

New Layout

It’s been sitting on my test server for two months so I decided it was finally time to give h-j.com a new layout. In addition, all the pages are now presented by WordPress to make updating easier but there may have been a few errors made in the change over so please let me know by comment or e-mail if you spot any!

I went through the affiliates (when I first took over, so it probably needs doing again by now) and linked the sites in the same way that they linked h-j.com (e.g. if you link us from your sidebar, I’ve returned the favour or if you only link from an affiliates page, I’ve done the same). Feel free to comment or e-mail if I’ve missed you out.

Well, what do you know? Hugh’s made a proper appearance, the first one since February 2007. On August 18, he and wife Deborra-Lee Furness attended the Bone Marrow Donor Institute Red Ball 2007 in Melbourne – and, of course, Hugh looked fabulous as always. I’ve added 34 MQs and HQs of him at the event to the gallery.

I’m afraid this will be my last post as the owner of Hugh-Jackman.com. It’s been a fun ride, lovelies, and it pains me to let this site go, but with my life taking a whole new course this year and the next, something’s gotta give, and I’ve come to the realization that no matter how dearly I love Hugh and love running a site for him, this site is much too big for me to maintain. I have thus opted to give this site away to my good friend and fellow fan site webby, Niu of Quasi-Evil.net, who will be your ~~slave~~ devoted fan site webby from now on. Me you can still find at Milla Fan, Chloë Sevigny Online and Robert Sean Online, and I will continue to contribute content to Hugh-Jackman.com (because I still have a lot of it to share), even though I’m no longer “in charge”, as it were. And, naturally, to Hugh Jackman himself I wish the best of future! Goodbye, lovelies.

Hugh-Jackman.com on indefinite open hiatus!

Well, as most of you know, I already made the decision to close this site down, but due to popular request I might resume running Hugh-Jackman.com again – after all, the man does have a lot coming up in the future. However, at present I don’t have the energy, will or interest to run this site, so I’m putting it on indefinite open hiatus instead of closing it (yet, anyway). The domain expires this December, so I have time until then to reconsider. I would like to thank my visitors for showing their support, though – it is largely thanks to you that I am reconsidering keeping Hugh-Jackman.com.

If you want to be a part of developing Hugh-Jackman.com, now’s your chance! I’ve long looked forward to opening a complete fan art archive with Hugh Jackman-related (digi)art goodies for the personal use of our visitors, and for that I need your help, my dear and talented visitor. If you have any Hugh Jackman-related fan art you would be interested in donating to H-J.com, it would be much appreciated as well as a tremendous help, even if you only have one item to donate. Here’s what I’m looking for:

• Wallpapers: 800×600, 1024×768, 1200×1600… can be of any desktop size!
• Icons: 100×100 pixel JPG/GIF Hugh icons – animated icons are also very much welcome!
• Misc art: includes blends, drawings, greyscale colorizations, photo manipulations, paintings, vectors… you name it, I’m open for suggestions!

The only requirement is that the fan art be Hugh-related, i.e. Hugh or film/stage/tv character fan art. I think that goes without saying, though. There is no limit to how much (or little) you contribute, every little helps! You will, of course, be fully credited for your work. Please send me your fan art at contact[@]hugh-jackman.com (or alternatively sandra[@]grey-wanderer.org) with “Hugh Jackman fan art” as the subject of your email, so it won’t get lost in the hoards of spam I get. New design and revamp in progress!

Welcome back, everyone! I’ve put up a new layout – at last - because the previous one was hurting my eyes. I don’t know how long I will be keeping this one, but it’ll stay up at least throughout the ongoing revamp. I’m not crazy about it, though. I have also installed a new news script, which will once again enable visitors to comment on new entries without the need to scroll down endlessly to reach the end of a massive spam hoard.

Speaking of the revamp, it is in progress, which means some of the pages will on occasion turn up odd or mixed, because I don’t want to put the site on hiatus or do the revamp ’backstage’ – I like to see the results of my work live, as it were. Yes. The forum is down again, indefinitely for now – I might actually end up getting rid of it, but more on that at another time. The gallery will be incorporated into this design as soon as possible. Anyways, I hope you like the new look.
