Synopsis: Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) runs a school for mutant children, training the to become a part of a group called the "X-Men". Xavier's old friend, Magneto (Ian McKellen), however, has the extinction of the human race in mind, and thus kidnaps a young but powerful mutant, Rogue (Anna Paquin), whom Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is determined to save.

Personal comments: This my favorite X-Men movie to date. The special effects are mostly quite impressive, and though at times I, as a movie goer, feel like I'm taken for a child, the movie is mostly very entertaining. Unlike in its sequels, in X-Men the delicate balance between serious issues and entertainment has been found and is maintained, and thus the movie never falters for too much sentimentalism or judgementalism.
