Why Hugh: Hugh is phenomenal. Ever since the release of X-Men (2000), I’ve been tracking the progress of his career, hoping he’d at some point be offered credable, Academy Award-worthy roles. It’s been a six-year-long wait, but he’s finally getting to showcase his talent in more serious-minded movies, such as Aronofsky’s The Fountain (2006) and Nolan’s The Prestige (2006). *nods* I’m not a very emotional person, but when he takes on a role, it seems so genuine even I am caught into the emotions he portrays… I also love the fact that he’s such a devoted husband and father, never letting his career take first place. I also love Hugh for being so without prejudice to any project offer given to him. Surely he must’ve known, when taking Van Helsing (2004) upon himself, that he wouldn’t get much recognition for his work in the movie. But that’s just it - he has chosen acting because he loves it and he loves to entertain, not just to make money on his (gorgeous! <3) physique. ^_^

Why Hugh:There is something so natural about Hugh that you can’t help but realize that he’s the same guy behind the camera as he is in front of it, and I think that was what initially appealed to me. I was never fond of movie adaptations, and being an X-Men fan made me a little more critical than the average moviegoer, but Hugh blew me away with his portrayal of Wolverine regardless. My admiration has only grown with each role he has taken, and it’s gotten to the point where I DEMAND to watch his movies the week they come out in theaters - a huge turnaround for someone who until then, wasn’t a frequent moviegoer. Unlike a lot of other celebrities, he never gets fame get to his head - and that’s what I love about him most of all! He never comes off as boastful or faux, and despite his celebrity staus, he reminds us every now and then that he’s just a regular ol’ guy just like everyone else. After all, who else can play both a crabby mutant and a flamboyant songwriter on Broadway, and still make both look credible AND sexy? :D
